Grand Concours de Chant

The Grand Concours de Chant is dedicated to the discovery and support of talented young singers who seek to further their skills through the study and performance of French Art Song, French Opera and Operetta. It is designed to reward the most accomplished and promising artists in this repertoire. The contest changes concentration each year.

The Grand Concours de Chant Finals is held each year at Bates Recital Hall, at the Butler School of Music of the University of Texas.

The Grand Concours de Chant is non-discriminatory.

Applications: September 1 to December 1, 2010 - by team of two singers
Finals: Austin, TX on February 27, 2011
Age: 18-28
Program: 1 aria for each singer plus one duet from the same French Opera
Prizes (by team): 1st Prize: $5000, 2nd Prize: $3000, 3rd Prize: $2000,
4th Prize: $1000, 5th Prize: $1000
