Curriculum
Our commitment
The curriculum is designed to give young singers the tools needed to succeed in the profession.
The complete French experience ensures a higher level of competitiveness. All singers accepted into the program are guaranteed to perform an entire role because we believe that it is vital for young singers to perform complete roles, rather than scenes or excerpts
All singers are guaranteed a minimum of four stage appearances - Recitals and Opera/Operetta. Roles are assigned upon acceptance to the program.
Features
Voice-Interpretation
Weekly lessons with our outstanding vocal faculty. Lessons focus mostly on diction and interpretation. However, technical advice is available if requested by the student.
Role preparation
Coaching focused on the opera production of the year. Each student will focus on his/her role as well as chorus parts if necessary.
Performances will be with an orchestra.
Performance
Because we believe ther is nothing like real performance to learn about performance, singers are guaranteed a minimum of three stage appearances
French Language
With two levels of French, the program concentrates on oral expression, taking advantage of the possibilities that the city of Angers can offer.
Master classes
Each summer, one or two guest artists are invited to share their knowledge of the French repertoire with our students.
Coaching
Focusing on art songs and opera arias, our coaches will work with each student to apply advice received during the voice lessons and achieve the best interpretation of the music selections.
A typical day
A typical day begins with voice lessons and coaching (arias and art songs), followed by French. The afternoon focuses mostly on the operetta - music, staging, and dialogues.
